Skin rash after a CT scan. The patient is allergic to shellfish, especially mussels - these concentrate iodine in their tissues, and the dye used in CT scans includes iodine-based tracers. This rash covered the whole body, lasted for 3-4 weeks before subsiding, and was intensely itchy. Onset occurred within two hours of the scan. Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. //Eric Lindgren//
