Rainbow Lorikeet at bird feeding station, Brisbane Australia  //   Rainbow Lorikeet - Psittacidae: Trichosurus haematodus. Length to 30cm; wingspan to 45cm; weight to 150g; Found in northern and eastern Australia from the Kimberley Region in northern Western Australia (Red-collared Lorikeet) to eastern South Australia. Occurs in forests, woodlands, heath, and rural and urban areas. Aviary-escapees are established in many towns and cities. Widespread with many subpsecies - often with a different name - from eastern Indonesia through New Guinea east to Vanuatu and New Caledonia, north to the Philippine Islands.
