A dead female Common Brushtail Possum (Phalangeridae: Trichosurus vulpecula), electrocuted on suburban power lines while foraging at night. It is hanging by its jaws, clamped around the wire.  Day 8:  The drooping left ear and the opening pouch indicate relaxation of the tissues in the body. Blowflies are attracted to the decomposing flesh.  /  Possum - body length to 50cm, tail to 38cm., weight to 4kg.
